How to spot a fake job offer in India
The short, honest checklist that tells a real job from a trap, and what to do the moment someone asks you for money.
Read the guide →How do you tell a real job from a fake one?
Start with one rule: a real employer never asks you for money. Not for registration, not for a training kit, not for a uniform, and not for a "security deposit" before you have started. Anyone who asks you to pay to get a job is running a scam, however professional the message looks.
Next, check the basics. A genuine job names the company, the area you will work in, the pay and the shift before you apply. You can search the company name and find a real address. Someone speaks to you, even if it is a short phone call for a shop-floor or delivery role, and nobody asks for your OTP, UPI PIN or bank login "to verify" you.
On HiringNotice, every employer is checked before they can post, and a person reads each job before it goes live. Only the business that will pay your salary can post, so there are no agencies in between, and searching and applying is free. If something still looks wrong, report it and we will look into it.
